Research in heat and mass transfer, multiphase thermo-fluid dynamics and fire engineering

The Thermal Science & Engineering  group is involved in research activities in the field of heat and mass transfer. Its three main laboratories explore this broad subject from different points of wiew:
> the ThermALab focuses on refining the knowledge of conductive, convective and radiative heat transfer phenomena and their applications, from industrial cooling problems, to IR thermography based Non Destructive Testing, to solar radiation transmittance control.
> the MultiphaseLab focuses on thermo-fluid dynamics phenomena, analyzing multiphase flows for oil & gas transportation, drop – surface interactions and refrigerant fluids behavior.
> the FireLab is dedicated to fire reaction tests, fire modeling and safety systems design, both active and passive.
